Edit if needed (absolute URL recommended)
How to use
Inspect the page's current canonical
Paste the page URL and press Inspect canonical. The tool fetches the page and shows a green alert with any existing canonical, or an amber warning if the page declares none.
Set the Canonical URL field
The field pre-fills with the detected canonical or the final URL after redirects. Edit it to the version you want indexed, using a full absolute URL with the protocol included.
Copy the link tag
The Tag pane shows the finished markup. Press the copy button and place the tag inside the head element of the preferred page and every duplicate variant of it.
Why Canonical Tag Generator
- Inspect a page's existing canonical (or absence thereof).
- Generate a clean canonical link tag to drop into <head>.
