PDF pages are measured in points, 72 to the inch. At 1x scale the renderer produces one pixel per point, which works out to 72 DPI: fine for a thumbnail, mushy everywhere else. Each step multiplies that. 2x is roughly 144 DPI, 3x about 216, and 4x approaches 288 DPI, which is print territory.

Concretely, a standard 16:9 slide page measures 720 by 405 points. Input: that page at 2x. Output: a 1440 by 810 pixel JPG, crisp on any social feed. The same page at 4x becomes 2880 by 1620 pixels, enough headroom for zooming, projection, or a printed handout.

DPI for sharing vs print in a JPG export

Screens forgive; printers don't.

For screens, match the display, not the myth. A full-width blog image needs 1200 to 1600 pixels across, which a 2x render covers for most page sizes. Pushing 4x for a Slack preview just quadruples the megabytes for pixels nobody will ever see.

Print flips the math. A page destined for paper wants 250 to 300 DPI at its final size, so move the slider to 4x and check the output dimensions against your print width. If a large-format poster needs more than 4x can offer, send the source PDF to the printer rather than any raster export; vectors scale for free.

Single page vs all pages in one JPG run

The ZIP always contains everything.
