Common questions
What facebook post image size should I use for a standard photo post?
The 1200x630 preset covers shared posts and link thumbnails at the 1.91:1 ratio Facebook favors. Squares and portraits also render in feed, but 1200x630 is the default that never displays awkwardly.
What makes Facebook photos turn blurry after upload?
Facebook recompresses aggressively, and enormous files trigger the most drastic quality loss. Uploading at the display size, like 1200x630 for a post, gives the compressor far less to throw away. Exporting as JPG around 90 percent quality before upload also helps.
How is the desktop page cover different from the mobile crop?
Desktop shows 1640x859 but phones cut that to roughly 640x360, slicing away the sides. Keep logos and text near the center of your cover so both audiences see them. The note on the preset card is there as a reminder.
Are Facebook Stories covered by the preset list?
Yes, the Story preset outputs 1080x1920 vertical. Facebook Stories share the 9:16 canvas with other apps, so one export often serves several placements at once.
How do I resize image for facebook events?
Use the Event cover preset, which produces 1920x1005, the wide banner shown at the top of event pages. It's the largest preset in the set, so start from a sharp original or the upscale will show.
Will the resized Facebook files keep their original format?
Yes. A JPG goes in and a JPG comes out, PNG stays PNG, exported at 92 percent quality. Filenames get the platform and preset appended, so a batch stays sortable.
Is a group post image treated the same as a page post on Facebook?
Feed posts render the same in groups and on pages, so the 1200x630 preset works for both. Cover images differ, group headers crop tighter than page covers, so check how a banner sits after upload rather than reusing the page cover file blindly.
