WEBP to JPG

Right-click, Save image, and half the time what lands in your downloads folder is a .webp your photo editor refuses to open. Older Photoshop releases, company CMS uploaders, and plenty of desktop software still expect JPG. This webp to jpg converter is the unsticking tool: feed it the saved files, click once, and get universally readable images back. It handles a single file or a folder of them, zipping batches automatically and showing the output size for each. Since it's a browser tool, you can convert webp to jpg online on any machine, including the locked-down office laptop where installing software isn't an option.

Bulk supported. Drop multiple files and they'll be processed in a queue with a single ZIP download. Same settings apply to every file.

How to use

01

Select the WEBP files

Drag .webp files from your downloads folder into the uploader, or click to browse. Each one is decoded right in the browser, so there's no progress bar to wait on.

02

Keep JPG selected and set quality

JPG is the preset target with quality at High, 92%. Lower it via the Medium or Low preset if size matters more. Any transparency in the source gets flattened onto white.

03

Convert and open anywhere

Press Convert to JPG. Single files download instantly; batches come back as converted-jpg.zip, ready for Photoshop, Office documents, or an aging CMS.

Why WEBP to JPG

Common questions

Why won't Photoshop open my WEBP file in the first place?
Native WEBP support only arrived in Photoshop 23.2, released in 2022. Anything older needs a plugin or a converted file. Turning the image into a JPG sidesteps the whole problem in a few seconds.
Does WEBP lose quality when it becomes a JPG?
A little, since JPG encoding is lossy. At the High preset the change is practically invisible for photos. What you can't do is gain quality; whatever the original WEBP compression discarded stays gone.
What happens to an animated WEBP in this converter?
Only the first frame is decoded and saved, because JPG has no concept of animation. If you need the motion preserved, keep the original file or convert to a video format elsewhere.
Can I batch convert every WEBP I've saved this month?
Yes. Select them all, drop them in together, and bulk mode returns one ZIP with a JPG per source file. There's no per-file clicking and no queue limit beyond your browser's memory.
Will a transparent WEBP sticker look right as a JPG?
Its transparent areas will turn white, because JPG can't store an alpha channel. For stickers, logos, and cut-outs, choose PNG in the Export format row instead so the transparency stays.
Is the webp to jpg converter safe for private photos?
Yes. Files are decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser tab through the Canvas API. Nothing uploads, so the tool works the same on sensitive material as on wallpaper you saved from a blog.
Why is the JPG sometimes bigger than the WEBP was?
WEBP compresses more efficiently, so re-encoding to JPG at High quality can grow the file. That's normal. The goal here is compatibility with older software, not saving bytes.
