Common questions
How many points equal the margin I want to crop?
Multiply inches by 72: a half inch border is 36 points, a full inch is 72. Working in centimeters, multiply by about 28.35. Most scanner borders fall somewhere between 20 and 40 points.
Is crop pdf free to use for large scanned files?

Can every page get a different crop margin?
No, one margin applies to all four sides of every page in the document. That suits uniform scans well but not layouts where content drifts around. For those, pick a margin conservative enough for the worst page.
What unit does the crop margin field use?
PDF points, the format's native unit, where 72 points make an inch. The field accepts whole numbers from 0 to 200. Typing 0.5 hoping for half an inch won't work; enter 36 instead.
Will a cropped PDF display correctly on an e-reader?
