PDF to PNG

Diagrams, wireframes, and text-heavy pages deserve a lossless export, and that's the job of this pdf to png converter. It renders each page of your PDF in the browser through pdf.js and packs the results into a ZIP, one PNG per page. A Scale slider from 1x to 4x sets the output resolution, and because PNG compression is lossless, one-pixel lines and small labels come through exactly as drawn. Unpainted page backgrounds even stay transparent, something no JPG can offer. Engineers exporting architecture diagrams for a wiki and designers pulling app flows out of a spec end up here for the same reason: edges stay edges.

How to use

01

Add your PDF file

Drop a PDF of up to 100 MB into the uploader. Everything is parsed locally, so even an unreleased product spec is safe to open here.

02

Pick an output scale

Slide the Scale control anywhere from 1x to 4x in 0.5 increments. Diagrams destined for documentation usually want at least 2x so thin lines stay clean.

03

Download the ZIP of PNGs

Press Convert & download ZIP and watch the progress bar walk through the pages. The archive holds page-001.png onward, ready to drop into a wiki or deck.

Why PDF to PNG

Common questions

Does a PNG export keep transparency from the PDF?
Yes. Pages that don't paint a background render with genuinely transparent pixels, since PNG supports an alpha channel and the tool doesn't flatten onto white. Drop the result onto a dark slide and there's no white box around it.
Why is my PNG so much larger than the same page as JPG?
PNG is lossless, so it stores every pixel faithfully, and photographic content compresses poorly that way. For pages that are mostly photos, PDF to JPG produces far smaller files with no visible difference; save PNG for line art and text.
Can I convert pdf to png online without my file being uploaded?
Here, yes. The rendering runs inside your browser and the document never crosses the network. Close the tab and no copy exists anywhere but your machine.
What resolution will the PNG pages come out at?
Page points multiplied by your scale. An A4 page is 595 by 842 points, so 2x yields a 1190 by 1684 pixel image, roughly 144 DPI. Push toward 4x when the image will be zoomed or printed.
How do I export just one diagram page as a PNG?
The run always covers the whole document, so either pull the single file you need out of the ZIP or trim the PDF first with Extract PDF Pages. Trimming first is faster on long documents at high scale.
Is pdf to png the right choice for scanned documents?
Usually not. Scans are photographs, so the lossless format inflates them dramatically for no quality gain. Render scans with the JPG exporter instead, and keep PNG for born-digital pages with sharp vector edges.
