How to use

Upload and count pages
Drop the lease or NDA into the upload area. The panel shows the filename with a page count, and the Page to sign field defaults to page 1.

Draw your signature
Write inside the dashed canvas using a mouse or your finger on a touchscreen. A stray line isn't fatal, the Clear signature button wipes the canvas so you can start over.

Stamp and download
Set the page number, then press Sign & download. The drawing lands as an image at the bottom right of that page, and the copy saves with a -signed suffix.

Common questions
Is the drawn signature legally valid on a lease or NDA?
Electronic signatures are broadly recognized, in the US under the ESIGN Act and in the EU under eIDAS, and routine agreements like leases and NDAs are typically covered. What matters is intent and consent from both parties. A few document types, wills in many jurisdictions for instance, still demand ink, so check anything unusual.
How is this different from a certified digital signature?
A digital signature uses a cryptographic certificate to prove who signed and that nothing changed afterward, and validating software shows a verification badge. This tool embeds a picture of your handwriting instead. It records your mark, but it can't mathematically prove authorship or detect later edits.
Can I type my name or upload a signature image instead of drawing?
Not in the current version, the canvas is draw-only. If your mouse handwriting looks shaky, open this page on a phone or tablet and use your finger, the canvas accepts touch input directly.
Where does the tool add signature to pdf pages exactly?
At a fixed spot: bottom right, about 40 points in from the edges, scaled to 200 points wide. That matches the signature block on most leases and forms. If you need pixel-precise placement, a full PDF editor is the better instrument.
Does my contract get uploaded when I esign pdf files here?
No. pdf-lib runs in your browser, embeds the PNG locally, and the download is generated from your own memory, not a server. For an NDA that's more than convenient, it means the confidential text was never disclosed to anyone.
Can I put my signature on two different pages?
One page per pass. Stamp page 4, download the result, upload that signed copy, and repeat for the next page. Each pass re-saves the whole document, so two rounds still take under a minute.
Why does my signature look thin or jagged after drawing on a laptop?
Trackpads produce jittery strokes at the 2.5 pixel line width. Draw larger than feels natural, the image is scaled down when stamped, or switch to a touchscreen. Clear signature costs nothing, so iterate until it looks like you.
What should both parties keep after exchanging a signed copy?
The emailed trail. Because this signature is an image rather than a certificate, the surrounding evidence of who sent what and when is what backs it up if anyone disputes the agreement. Archive the final PDF and the email thread together.
